Frequently Asked Questions

What is air duct cleaning and why do I need it?
Air duct cleaning is the operation of removing dust, debris, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, fungus spores, kids toys, hair, pretty much anything that finds it's way into your heating and cooling ventilation system.

What are the benefits of having my ducts and vents cleaned?
- Improve indoor air quality. Air duct cleaning literally removes pounds of dust and dander from your ventilation system. Get all of that dirt and debris out of your vents and out of your precise indoor breathing air!
- Prolong the life or your air conditioner and/or furnace. Your heating and cooling system won't have to work as hard to push air through clean vents.
- Increase energy efficiency and save money. The cleaner your air ducts are, the more efficiently warmed or cooled air is delivered throughout your home or business. This efficiency saves energy and MONEY!

How do I know if my dryer vents need cleaning?
Green Bay Duct Cleaning also cleans dryer vents! The signs of clogged or cluttered dryer vents is often pretty apparent. Look for excess lint and debris both near the back of your dryer and at the vent outlet on the exterior of the house. Dryer venting should be cleaned regularly, as the build up of lint and small fabric dust can cause a fire hazard if left unkept.

How do I know if my HVAC venting needs cleaning?
There are several key indicators or events that would suggest you need your air ducts cleaned:
New construction or remodeling - inevitably these construction activities create dirt, dust and debris.
Asthma or Allergies - The air from your ventilation system recirculates 4-8 times per day, depending on use. Cleaning your ducts improves indoor air quality and reduces dust, dander, pollen, spores and other allergens from your indoor air.
Excessive dust or the presence of pets - We all love our pets, but lets be honest, they can be dirty. Pet hair, dog and cat dander, dirt tracked in from outside. These all contribute to the quality of your indoor air. Also, lets not forget what dust actually is....dried skin cells, human dander, dead insects, tree and plant pollen, smoke particles, and many more unpleasant micro things..

How long will it take to clean the air ducts in my home?
This is dependent on the size of your home and complexity of your heating and cooling systems, but the typical house will take 4-6 hours and businesses often take 8 hours or more.

Should I be present for the duct cleaning?
You certainly can be, or if you're busy and unable to be around that's fine too. We're flexible and can get the job done effectively either way.

Will it be dusty in my home during or after the air vent cleaning?
No, it will not. We will seal your ducts during the process and all the dust and debris will be neatly collected by our containment system. We will also clean the vent covers before replacing them in their initial position. This ensures an entirely clean and dust-free system once the furnace or air conditioner is turned back on.
